New Life & Rainy Days:
My January Rewind
January is often seen as a quiet month, but behind my lens, it has been a whirlwind of tiny toes, milestone hugs, and plenty of coffee. This month has been dedicated to family and newborn lifestyle sessions, and my heart is incredibly full.
Let’s talk about the Great British weather! January hasn't exactly given us constant sunshine, but I’ve always believed that a little drizzle adds a layer of mood and texture that you just can't replicate on a bright summers day. Soft Light from overcast skies act like a giant softbox, creating flattering, creamy skin tones and I can't get enough of them.
There is something so "real life" about a family huddled together under a canopy or laughing through a light mist, playing in the trees as mother natures changes her plans on us. Unless it’s a total downpour (where we usually opt for the comfort of your living room!), I’m always game to head outside. These elements often help create those beautiful, natural images that feel like a true memory, not just a posed photo.
Why I Do What I Do
I am currently tucked away in the studio, working hard to get these galleries polished and back to my wonderful clients. Looking through these frames, I’m constantly reminded of why I chose this path.
The love I’ve witnessed in these homes is from the way a new dad looks at his daughter, or the chaotic joy of siblings playing games together is pure gold.
I’m not just taking pictures; I’m helping families freeze-frame a moment in time that they can hold onto forever.
What’s Next?
As I wrap up the editing for my January families, my calendar for the spring is already starting to fill up. If you're looking to capture your own family's story, don't wait for the "perfect" weather—the perfect moment is whenever you're together.
